GARAGE FLOOR FINISHES

Our cars bring numerous elements into our garages with the combination of temperature and road conditions.  Whether it be salt and sand-ridden ice or other road chemicals, the concrete floors in our garages can suffer a variety of damage fairly quickly.  Cracks, corrosion, erosion, staining and more...all of which can be prevented (or repaired) with a custom floor finish.

THE PROJECT - Residential Garage - Vernon, CT

Painted Garage Floor Finish Chipping and Peeling

THE SOLUTION

We used our smaller 110V DIAMATIC Planetary Diamond Grinder to remove the existing coating and provide a bondable surface.  The concrete was very soft, pitted and cracked. A thin flash coat of urethane mortar was hand troweled to help flatten the surface.

The flash coat was followed by the application of a urethane mortar system into which specially graded Flintshot aggregate was broadcast to rejection.  A final epoxy top coat was applied. The finished surface is non slip, chemically resistant and pleasing to the eye.

Finished - a Non-Slip Chemically Resistant Concrete Garage Floor

THE PROBLEM

A garage floor which was previously painted by a homeowner was chipping, peeling and generally failing. It was determined that the failure was the result of substandard surface preparation.
